Who is YOUR Aunt Sally? October 17 2012
Twenty years my senior, my aunt Sally is who I want to be when I "grow up".
Style, grace, beauty, and a smile as refreshing and absolute as a bowl of raspberry sorbet. Her style is impeccable-- Trendy enough to be hip and interesting, but elegant enough never to be out of place. Several years ago, Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer. Treatment after treatment, never once does she complain. Yet her courage is so indicative of many women I know.
My friend Michelle was newly diagnosed with Stage 2 at age 42, and her motto is "Happiness is a Choice." My friend Christine is a 5-year survivor and running her first full marathon at the end of the month! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With hundreds of thousands of women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, everyone now-a-days has an aunt, mom, sister, friend who is battling the disease right now. Who is it for you?
